In a shocking incident, a former functionary of the BJP's youth wing, Venkatesh, was killed in Gangavati taluk. The attack is believed to be rooted in personal enmity, according to preliminary police reports.
Venkatesh was ambushed by a group of five to six assailants while returning home on a two-wheeler. The attackers, who were traveling by car, assaulted him with machetes, while his friend managed to flee. Venkatesh later died from his injuries at the hospital.
The police have launched a manhunt, successfully capturing four suspects involved in the murder. District Superintendent of Police Ram L Arasiddi confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts to apprehend the remaining culprits. The news has evoked widespread grief, with condolence messages pouring in, including from BJP State President B Y Vijayendra.
