In a shocking incident in Gangavati taluk, a former BJP youth wing leader, Venkatesh, was killed in what sources suspect is a case of personal rivalry. The grim attack unfolded in the early hours of Wednesday, shaking the local community.
According to the police, Venkatesh was on his way back home on a two-wheeler with a friend when the assailants intervened and launched a lethal attack using machetes. While Venkatesh succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, his friend managed to escape unhurt.
The district authorities acted swiftly, registering a murder case and securing four suspects involved in the crime. Efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining perpetrators. BJP State President B Y Vijayendra expressed his condolences, marking the loss as deeply saddening.
