Controversy Brews Over Electoral Roll Revisions in Bihar

Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has voiced strong criticism against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, accusing it of undermining democracy. Speaking in Bundi, he suggested that the current process allows the government to decide who votes, rather than the voters themselves.

Randhawa, joined by Rajasthan Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra, raised concerns about the disparities in voter registration between states, citing an increase in Maharashtra's voter count while deletions occur in Bihar.

Emphasizing the importance of safeguarding democratic principles, Randhawa urged Prime Minister Modi to ensure citizens retain their voting rights. His remarks followed a condolence visit to the family of late Congress leader Bharat Singh Kundanpur in Kota.
