Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a bold pledge at an election rally in Jalpaiguri, asserting the BJP's commitment to reclaim funds allegedly siphoned by the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Shah emphasized that under BJP governance, accountability would be enforced on TMC leaders, accused of perpetuating corruption in the state.
Shah highlighted the Prime Minister's corruption-free tenure, contrasting it with alleged financial mismanagement by TMC, including a recruitment scam and misappropriation of flood relief funds. He assured voters of a fair investigation and promised to return reappropriated funds to the citizens of Bengal.
The Union Home Minister also announced several development initiatives for North Bengal, committing to increase tea workers' wages and secure land titles for them. Shah took a strong stance against infiltration, promising measures to prevent illegal immigration, a recurring concern in the region.
