Senator Tillis Urges DOJ to Drop Fed Construction Probe
Republican Senator Thom Tillis calls for the Department of Justice to end its investigation into cost overruns at the Federal Reserve's headquarters construction, arguing that they appear justified. His comments aim to expedite the confirmation of Trump's Fed chair nominee, Kevin Warsh.
U.S. Republican Senator Thom Tillis on Tuesday urged the Department of Justice to cease its investigation into cost overruns associated with the Federal Reserve's headquarters construction project, indicating the expenditures seem warranted.
During a Senate Banking Committee hearing for Fed chair nominee Kevin Warsh, Tillis stated that the continuation of the probe impedes the confirmation process that he wishes to support.
"Let's get rid of this investigation so I can support your confirmation," Tillis remarked, signaling his readiness to back Warsh once the inquiry concludes.
