TMC senior leader Abhishek Banerjee lambasted Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly disrespecting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during election campaigns, reflecting the BJP's perceived attitude towards women.
Speaking at an election meeting in Joynagar, Abhishek Banerjee pointed out that Shah's dismissive language mirrored the treatment Mamata Banerjee received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021. He accused BJP of targeting the sole female opposition chief minister opposing their 'dictatorial attitude' and warned that answers would be forthcoming after results on May 4.
Further, Banerjee accused the BJP of questioning the citizenship of Bengalis despite having valid documents and alleged that those who exercised violence during the Left rule had now joined the BJP, contributing to saffron forces' growth. He alleged that new political parties were conspiring with BJP to split votes against TMC.
