New Guidelines for West Bengal Post-Poll Camera Handling
The Election Commission has instituted new protocols for handling surveillance cameras and video data in the West Bengal assembly elections. SD cards from polling booths must remain intact until removed at a designated data center. Additionally, a webcasting trial is scheduled for the upcoming polling phase.

The Election Commission recently released a revamped set of post-poll guidelines emphasizing stringent protocols for the handling of surveillance cameras and video data during the West Bengal assembly election.
According to a senior official, SD cards housed in polling booth cameras must remain undisturbed immediately following the conclusion of voting, with dismounting of cameras permitted solely under sector officer supervision.
The data collected is to be safeguarded only at designated centers in the presence of authorized personnel. Additionally, a trial webcasting run for the second electoral phase will commence on Friday. Votes are to be tallied on May 4.
