West Bengal Elections: Kejriwal Urges Support for TMC, Slams Modi's Leadership

As West Bengal's second phase of assembly elections campaigns heat up, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal has labeled Prime Minister Modi as a 'weak PM,' criticizing alleged voter removals in the state. Addressing a Jansabha in North Kolkata, Kejriwal emphasized the gravity of the election, framing it as a battle for democracy and Bengali identity amid BJP's presence.

Kejriwal's sharp critique of the central government included claims of Modi's inability to assert himself on global platforms, and alleged social media ridicule of both Modi and Amit Shah. Kejriwal alleged that nearly 27 lakh voters have been removed from West Bengal's electoral roll, questioning citizenship integrity and urging voters to back Mamata Banerjee by canvassing door-to-door.

He further accused the BJP of dismantling Delhi's welfare schemes, predicting similar measures if the party wins West Bengal. Emphasizing the high voter engagement in the first election phase with a 92.35% turnout, Kejriwal portrayed the vote as crucial for maintaining welfare policies and preventing BJP's alleged negative influence. The second phase of polling is set for April 29, with results expected on May 4.
