As Gujarat's local body elections unfolded, the State Election Commission (SEC) reported a largely peaceful voting process. While urban participation was below 50%, voters in tribal regions braved the heat to cast their ballots in striking numbers.
Municipal corporations saw a voter turnout of 48.73%, with Tapi leading at 65.68%. Despite the scorching temperatures, the tribal-dominated districts of Narmada, Dangs, and Tapi topped turnout records in district and taluka panchayat elections.
