In a bid to guarantee fair and fearless voting, the Election Commission unveiled a comprehensive security plan for the upcoming second phase of West Bengal assembly elections. Strict measures were announced to curb disruptions and protect voters, officials stated on Sunday.
During a high-level meeting involving poll officials and security personnel, strategies such as deploying CAPF patrols were discussed. The meeting focused on enhancing security visibility and coordination in 142 constituencies heading to polls on April 29.
State Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal emphasized the importance of peaceful voting, urging political parties to encourage participation and warning against bogus voting. CCTV installations and restrictions near booths aim to fortify the electoral process.
