In the wake of a violent episode at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan reached out to U.S. President Donald Trump to offer his support.
Erdogan firmly condemned the shooting, labeling it a 'heinous act against democracy and press freedom,' according to a statement from the Turkish presidency on X.
He further expressed relief in another statement on X, acknowledging that both President Trump and the First Lady, Melania Trump, had emerged from the incident unscathed.
