Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Monday that central forces are set to remain in West Bengal for at least seven additional days after the state's elections, irrespective of whether the BJP comes to power. Shah urged the electorate to vote fearlessly, emphasizing the robust security measures enacted by the Election Commission.

Speaking at a roadshow in Behala, he implored, 'Brothers and sisters, go and vote on the 29th, do not worry about the goons.' He reaffirmed that even with a BJP victory, the presence of central forces would persist to ensure safety and order.

The roadshow marked the culmination of BJP's campaigning for the Behala Purba and Behala Paschim constituencies. As Shah, atop an open vehicle, waved to the crowd, the streets of south Kolkata buzzed with the fervor of BJP supporters. The throngs, adorned with party flags and balloons, echoed slogans like 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai.'
