On Monday, AIADMK leader I S Inbadurai accused the ruling DMK of engaging in electoral malpractices during the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls held on April 23. He claimed that the DMK had distributed money and gold coins to voters in Coimbatore and Karur constituencies.
Inbadurai, a Rajya Sabha MP, confirmed that the AIADMK has already lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding these allegations, urging for action to be taken. He expressed confidence that the AIADMK would win the polls and that party chief Edappadi K Palaniswami would become the next chief minister.
The election battle between the DMK and AIADMK is intense as both parties strive to secure power in Tamil Nadu. The results of the election will be counted on May 4, with the political future of the state hanging in balance.
