Union Home Minister Amit Shah has affirmed the deployment of central forces in West Bengal will continue for at least 60 days after the elections, irrespective of whether the BJP secures victory. Shah's announcement came during a roadshow in Behala, urging voters to exercise their right without intimidation.
Addressing the crowd, Shah emphasized that comprehensive security measures have been implemented by the Election Commission. He assured that the presence of central forces would persist even if the BJP assumes power, aiming to ensure a safe environment for all voters.
The roadshow, conducted on the last day of campaigning, saw a massive turnout of BJP supporters. The supporters, decked in party colors and waving flags, filled the streets of south Kolkata, transforming the atmosphere into a saffron spectacle.
