In his maiden public meeting in Telangana after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a BJP rally, named 'Janagraha Sabha' (meeting to express people's anger), on May 10. Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao, who presided over a meeting of party MPs and MLAs, released a poster for the public meeting to be held at the Parade Grounds in the city. Rao told reporters that Modi would reach Hyderabad from Bengaluru on May 10 and virtually inaugurate development initiatives worth about Rs 8,000 crore at the Begumpet airport in the city. Later, he will reach the Parade Grounds for the rally. ''Congress has defeated the women's quota amendment bill, and SCs and STs would have got more seats had the bill been passed,'' the BJP leader said. ''Congress has betrayed South India. Because of Congress, South India lost an increase in parliament seats,'' Rao said. Alleging that Congress is playing divisive politics by trying to create a 'north-south divide', Rao said, ''Congress had organised 'Bharat Jodo Yatra', but what it is doing is 'Todo Yatra' (breaking yatra)''. For this reason, the BJP has named the public meeting as 'Janagraha Sabha', he said. The opposition BRS is beset with its family disputes, and its leader, K Chandrasekhar Rao, makes a rare public appearance only to ''vanish'' again, he alleged. People need a party that works for the people and with the philosophy of 'Nation First', and the BJP fits the bill, he added.
