Maharashtra Legislative Council Elections: A Political Chessboard

This political season in Maharashtra is marked by a flurry of activity as ten candidates file nominations for the legislative council seats. With the ruling BJP fielding six contenders, the opposition has named one nominee. As things stand, the elections might see an unopposed contest unless a last-minute entry takes place.

The BJP has aligned its pieces strategically by nominating seasoned politicians alongside fresh faces, under the watchful eye of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Sunil Vinayak Karjatkar and Madhavi Naik are among the prominent names, bringing experience and vigor to the campaign.
