Swati Maliwal, BJP Rajya Sabha MP, expressed optimism about the party's success in West Bengal's recent elections. She attributed this victory to perceived corruption and lawlessness under the TMC regime. Maliwal, who recently joined the BJP, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership as a driving factor.
In response to criticism regarding her switch to the BJP, Maliwal defended her decision, highlighting PM Modi's decisive actions, including Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist bases effectively. She also praised the government's legislative strides, such as the ban on triple talaq and the introduction of the women's reservation law, crediting central leadership with the elimination of Naxalism.
Maliwal dismissed allegations of betrayal, instead accusing AAP's Arvind Kejriwal of compromising his principles by aligning with previously criticized politicians. She further alleged imprudent spending in the AAP government, particularly in Punjab, and urged that the betrayal term be more fittingly applied to those who break public trust.
