CPI(M) Leader Pursues Legal Action Over Defamation Allegations During Election Campaign

CPI(M) leader H Salam announced he would pursue legal action against BJP candidate Arun Anirudhan and two other party leaders, following alleged defamatory remarks made against him during the Ambalapuzha Assembly elections. Salam claims the accusations suggested links to terrorism, impacting his reputation.

In his statement to the press, Salam expressed his intention to file a defamation case and seek lawful resolutions after gathering evidence of the alleged personal attacks circulated on social media. He emphasized the need to address these false claims in court.

Salam also highlighted similar accusations from CPI(M) rebel leader G Sudhakaran, who contested under the Congress-led UDF. Sudhakaran denied any such allegations, asserting that Salam's complaints should have been addressed during the campaign. The high-stakes contest showcased significant tensions between the candidates.
