Bolsonaro Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery Amid Legal Battles
Former Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro has undergone successful shoulder surgery to address chronic pain and mobility issues. He is currently under humanitarian house arrest due to health and legal matters. Only his wife, Michelle, can visit him at the hospital, as per Supreme Court rules.
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro successfully underwent right shoulder surgery on Friday, according to his medical team's statement. The surgery was necessary to address persistent pain and limited mobility, complications he has faced recently.
Bolsonaro remains hospitalized for pain management and clinical supervision following the procedure. His recovery comes under the conditions of humanitarian house arrest, initially set for 90 days due to various health issues.
In tandem with his ongoing health challenges, Bolsonaro is also navigating legal issues, having been convicted of plotting a coup after losing the 2022 presidential elections to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes allowed the surgery, restricting hospital visitation rights to only his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro.
