P V Anvar, a former LDF MLA, and V Kunhikrishnan, a CPI(M) rebel leader, met at Kunhikrishnan's residence in Payyanur, marking a significant political moment. Anvar contested the Assembly election as a UDF-backed Independent from Beypore, while Kunhikrishnan, expelled from CPI(M), also stood as an Independent.
Both leaders severed ties with their previous parties amid allegations and dissatisfaction with party policies. Anvar criticized the 'Pinarayism', autocracy, and family rule in LDF, echoing similar reasons for Kunhikrishnan's departure from CPI(M). Their alignment reflects a counteraction to previously shared political grievances.
After a brief stint with the Trinamool Congress, Anvar is set to launch a new political outfit focusing on like-minded individuals, extending support to Congress on state and national levels. The proposed party aims for a launch by May 15, marking Anvar's return to active political reorganization.
