Repolling across 15 booths in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district witnessed over 72% turnout by 3 pm, despite allegations of electoral malpractice. Conducted in Magrahat Paschim and Diamond Harbour constituencies, the repoll was reported as largely peaceful.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) alleged misconduct at booth 179 in Diamond Harbour, where a differently-abled voter and his mother faced harassment by central forces. This prompted protests from locals and TMC members who deemed the incident unwarranted.
Polling continued without significant disruptions, while the Election Commission monitored the process closely, reflecting ongoing electoral challenges. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 4.
