Gautam Khattar, founder of Sanatan Mahasangh, sparked controversy after being released on bail this Saturday. He criticized Goan journalists accusing them of lacking journalistic ethics.
Khattar was initially arrested for making derogatory remarks against St Francis Xavier, a widely revered figure in Goa. His criticism drew sharp rebuke from Goa Union Journalists president Rajtilak Naik, who slammed Khattar's comments as generalized and irresponsible.
Goa Congress media department's Amarnath Panjikar also condemned Khattar, stating that his comments were baseless insults against a media community known for upholding truth and democracy. Panjikar demanded an apology, asserting that Khattar's attitude undermined democratic institutions.
