The political dynamics in Kerala are set for a transformation as the vote counting from the fiercely contested April 9 Assembly elections begins on Monday. The race among the ruling LDF, opposition UDF, and the BJP-led NDA is crucial, with each faction hoping to solidify its standing amid an evolving political arena.
Over 2.71 crore registered voters participated in the elections, casting a 79.63% turnout across 140 constituencies, culminating in a contest involving 883 candidates. Authorities have ensured the meticulous arrangement of counting centers, deploying over 15,000 personnel to ensure a smooth tallying process, which begins at 8 AM.
The results are on a knife-edge as exit polls hint at intense competition, with the Congress-led UDF eyeing a significant comeback while the LDF seeks another term. Meanwhile, the NDA aims to expand its influence despite low expectations of forming the government.
