BJP candidate Jahar Chakraborti is on track for a landslide victory in the Dharmanagar Assembly bypoll, leading his Congress rival Chayan Bhattacharya by nearly 14,000 votes as per the latest data from the Election Commission.
Chakraborti, who garnered 18,754 votes, attributed the impending win to the party's commitment to peace and development. Meanwhile, CPI(M)'s candidate Amitabha Dutta trailed behind in third place.
With a voter turnout recorded at 79.84%, Chakraborti expressed confidence in fulfilling the people's aspirations for a developed Dharmanagar, aligning with BJP's broader state development objectives.
