A vibrant display of saffron engulfed Bhabanipur's streets on Monday as BJP supporters began celebrating early. Jubilant workers distributed 'laddoos' and chanted slogans in response to the party surpassing the critical threshold in the West Bengal elections.
According to the Election Commission's latest trends, the BJP's growing lead signals a possible upset for the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). Early results show Mamata Banerjee trailing Suvendu Adhikari by 8,482 votes after four counting rounds.
The BJP, with a commanding position in 173 seats, anticipates forming a new government. However, the official declaration by the Election Commission of India is still pending as the counting continues.
