Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, has consolidated her lead over BJP challenger Suvendu Adhikari by 16,706 votes in the Bhabanipur constituency, according to Election Commission data.
After initial swings, Banerjee managed to establish a commanding advantage with 25,942 votes compared to Adhikari's 9,236 votes after the fifth round of counting.
