BJP's Dominance Grows with Victory in Gujarat By-Election
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a significant victory in Gujarat's Umreth Assembly by-election, bolstering its position in the state. Harshadbhai Govindbhai Parmar won with a margin of 30,743 votes, evidencing BJP's continued success in regions like Nagaland, Tripura, as well as a strong presence in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a notable triumph in the Umreth Assembly by-election in Gujarat. Harshadbhai Govindbhai Parmar emerged victorious, securing 85,500 votes and defeating his rivals with a substantial margin of 30,743 votes. This victory further solidifies BJP's influence in the state, as per the Election Commission's data.
Among those who faced defeat were Maulik Vinubhai Shah from the Bharatiya National Janata Dal (BNJD) with 773 votes and Bhrugurajsinh Chauhan from the Indian National Congress (INC) with 54,757 votes. Independent candidates, including Nirupaben Natvarlal Madhu, Mahendrabhai Natvarbhai Parmar, and Jiteshkumar Ghanshyambhai Sevak, also suffered significant losses.
Parmar's victory enhances BJP's growing presence in Gujarat and contributes to its recent by-election successes nationwide, particularly in Nagaland's Koridang and Tripura's Dharmanagar constituencies. Meanwhile, in Karnataka, INC's Umesh Hullappa Meti triumphed in Bagalkot. BJP continued to make strides in Maharashtra and remained in competitive positions in ongoing contests.
