TVK Breakthrough in Puducherry: Ramu and Saravanan Kumar Secure Assembly Seats

In a significant political development in Puducherry, TVK candidates B Ramu and Sai J Saravanan Kumar clinched victory in the Assembly constituencies of Manavely and Thirubuvanai, respectively. The elections, conducted on April 9, marked the debut poll battle for TVK under the leadership of actor Vijay.
Ramu, representing TVK, secured 13,882 votes, overcoming rival Embalam Selvam from BJP, who garnered 10,729 votes. Selvam was notably the Speaker of the outgoing Assembly.
In the Thirubuvanai constituency, TVK's Saravanan Kumar was elected with 9,740 votes, defeating Congress candidate B Kobiga, who received 9,039 votes. While Puducherry holds 30 Assembly seats, the AINRC-led NDA coalition is expected to retain authority in the union territory.
