Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa faced a significant political upset on Monday, losing to AMMK candidate Kamaraj S in the Mannargudi constituency by a margin of 1,566 votes.
According to the Election Commission data, Rajaa managed to secure 66,850 votes, while his opponent Kamaraj obtained 68,416, marking a narrow defeat for the seasoned politician.
Rajaa's political journey includes being elected thrice to the Assembly and holding prominent positions such as a member of the Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission and Chairman of the Legislative Committee on Estimates post-2021.
