Motab Shaikh led the charge in Farakka, securing 63,050 votes against BJP rival Sunil Chowdhuri and TMC's Amirul Islam, turning a new leaf in his political journey after overcoming issues with his electoral registration.
The Congress further solidified its resurgence with Julfikar Ali's narrow victory in Raninagar over TMC's Soumik Hossain, winning by 2,701 votes in a heated contest, as confirmed by Election Commission data.
