Stunning Upset: BJP's Mukherjee Defeats TMC's Ghatak in Asansol
In a surprising electoral outcome, BJP's Krishnendu Mukherjee defeated TMC's prominent leader and state labour minister Moloy Ghatak by 11,615 votes in Asansol Uttar constituency, as reported by the Election Commission. Ghatak garnered 1,04,516 votes, while Mukherjee secured 92,901 votes. CPI's Akhilesh Kumar Singh came third with only 4,779 votes.

In a surprising twist in West Bengal's political landscape, TMC heavyweight and state labour minister Moloy Ghatak faced a significant defeat.
Ghatak lost to BJP's Krishnendu Mukherjee by a margin of 11,615 votes in the Asansol Uttar constituency, as confirmed by the Election Commission.
While Ghatak secured 1,04,516 votes, his rival Mukherjee obtained 92,901 votes. Trailing behind was CPI's Akhilesh Kumar Singh with 4,779 votes.
