Bengali Filmstar's Political Triumph in Jadavpur
Sarbari Mukherjee, a former Bengali filmstar, won the Jadavpur seat in south Kolkata by 25,773 votes, securing a victory for BJP in this historical Left stronghold. Mukherjee defeated TMC's Debabrata Majumdar, who sought re-election, with CPI(M)'s Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya finishing third.

Sarbari Mukherjee, known for her erstwhile career as a Bengali filmstar, has clinched a significant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by winning the Jadavpur seat in south Kolkata.
Defeating Debabrata Majumdar of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Mukherjee captured the seat with a decisive margin of 25,773 votes, as reported by the Election Commission.
In a race to reclaim the Jadavpur constituency from past political affiliations, CPI(M)'s candidate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya secured 39,057 votes, occupying the third spot.
