The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has designated Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya as the central observer for choosing the party's legislative leader in Puducherry. This decision follows a successful April 9 assembly election for the AINRC-led NDA.
The announcement by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh stated that Mandaviya, together with Nirmala Kumar Surana, BJP's Puducherry in-charge, will oversee this crucial party leadership election.
The assembly election results saw AINRC leader and Chief Minister N Rangasamy retaining his position by winning from two seats, contributing to their total 12-seat victory. Meanwhile, the BJP secured four seats with other coalition members, AIADMK and LJK, each gaining one seat.
