In a notable shift within Kerala's political landscape, BJP leader and former Union Minister of State V Muraleedharan credited the party's April 9 assembly poll success to widespread anti-incumbency sentiment and the Sabarimala gold loss incident. The BJP's achievements have disrupted the longstanding dominance of the CPI(M)-led LDF and UDF.
The constituency of Kazhakoottam witnessed Muraleedharan's victory, highlighting unaddressed concerns over basic amenities, including drinking water, for a decade. Notably, the technopark's location in Kazhakoottam emphasizes the area's significance in Thiruvananthapuram's development plans, a factor Muraleedharan insists mustn't be overlooked.
With the BJP securing three seats in the election, Muraleedharan asserts the party can now actively participate in assembly proceedings, advocating for Kerala's development while countering any political criticism directed at them. The UDF emerged victorious with 102 seats, leaving the CPI(M) and allies with 35 seats.
