DMK leader T K S Elangovan has expressed skepticism over actor-turned-politician Vijay's Makkal Iyakkam securing power in Tamil Nadu, stating that sole reliance on Congress support won't suffice. Elangovan highlighted Congress's limited influence as they possess only five MLAs.
Despite emerging as the largest party with 108 seats, Vijay's outfit requires 118 to form a government in the 234-member Tamil Nadu assembly. The critical support from AIADMK is essential, yet uncertainty shrouds their stance, potentially leading to a hung assembly and subsequent re-elections, according to Elangovan.
Addressing DMK's recent setback, Elangovan noted, "There was something wrong, which we are investigating." He also alleged that the BJP's actions are obstructing DMK's return to power, suggesting political maneuvering by the party in Tamil Nadu.
