In a striking allegation, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government of engaging in 'vendetta politics' against former MPs who recently transitioned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Chadha and a cohort of three MPs met with President Murmu on Tuesday, submitting a representation outlining their grievances and the purported politically motivated actions they face for leaving AAP.
Among the targeted are former cricketer Harbhajan Singh and industrialist Rajendra Gupta, who claim to have been harassed, with Gupta's business suffering alleged state-influenced disruptions. Chadha highlighted these incidents as malicious acts fueled by AAP's alleged revenge tactics. He urged Punjab government officials to abide by the law and resist political coercion.
Chadha, further supported by MP Sandeep Pathak, criticized AAP's governance, labeling it a short-lived tenure fraught with fear and desperation. The MPs expressed confidence in the legal system to dismiss what they claim are baseless FIRs lodged against them, affirming their resolve to uphold democratic principles and constitutional protections.
