Trump Lauds Modi's Historic Election Triumph
US President Donald Trump congratulates Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his significant election victory, highlighting Modi’s leadership. The BJP secured a historic win in West Bengal and retained Assam for a third term. Trump's admiration for Modi was expressed during a recent phone call.
In a statement from the White House, President Donald Trump extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his recent 'historic and decisive' election victory. The message praised Modi's leadership and India's fortune to have him steering the nation.
This accolade follows the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) monumental win in the West Bengal assembly elections, breaking a 15-year incumbency by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party. Additionally, the BJP managed to retain control in Assam for a third consecutive term, marking a significant electoral achievement.
According to White House Spokesman Kush Desai, President Trump had already conveyed his respect for Modi's leadership during a phone conversation last month. Desai relayed that Trump acknowledges the impressive nature of the BJP's victory and Modi's role in this political achievement.
