A clash erupted near the College Street campus of Calcutta University between ABVP supporters and the Left-wing DSO members, resulting in multiple injuries as per officials on Tuesday.
DSO state secretary Biswajit Roy alleged that ABVP activists resorted to violence post-election results, accusing them of dismantling banners and festoons. DSO members aimed to 'protect the democratic atmosphere' but faced attacks, according to Roy.
Contrarily, ABVP denied these claims, insisting DSO activists attacked them as they celebrated peacefully. Police intervention quickly resolved the scuffle near the university gate, ensuring minimal disruption.
