Punjab's Political Drama: Blasts, Blame, and Ballots

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has accused the BJP of using minor blasts in Amritsar and Jalandhar to spark fear ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The blasts, termed 'minor' by Mann, occurred on Tuesday night at key locations, including the BSF's Punjab Frontier headquarters in Jalandhar and near the army cantonment area in Khasa, Amritsar.

Mann claims that these incidents are part of the BJP's strategy to create an atmosphere of fear to secure votes, branding the party as communal. He alleged that the BJP has historically sought votes by inciting violence and dividing people on religious and caste lines. With antisacrilege laws now in place, Mann expressed confidence that the BJP's efforts to provoke inter-community conflict would be counteracted.

Asserting that Punjab is a peaceful state, the Chief Minister pledged to maintain law and order and ensure peace is upheld. He also referenced Mamata Banerjee's complaints of electoral mandate theft during the West Bengal assembly elections, urging the Election Commission to maintain an unbiased stance.
