The JD(U) Bihar unit president, Umesh Kushwaha, announced the party's expectation of 16 cabinet berths in the upcoming expansion of Samrat Choudhary's administration.
This statement comes ahead of a major cabinet expansion on Thursday, likely to feature prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Bihar assembly's constitution allows for a maximum of 30 ministers.
Currently, the JD(U) holds two deputy CM positions, but seeks further representation. As political dynamics shift, the role of Nishant, son of former CM Nitish Kumar, is also under discussion, although he is focusing on party organization rather than immediate power positions.
