Congress Embraces Vijay's TVK, Shifts Political Landscape in Tamil Nadu

In a significant political development, the Congress party has announced its support for actor-politician Vijay's Tamilian Viduthalai Kazhagam (TVK) in forming the next government of Tamil Nadu. This move marks the end of Congress's longstanding alliance with the Dravidian major, DMK.
According to AICC Tamil Nadu in-charge Girish Chodankar, Congress decided to support the TVK following Vijay's formal request. Celebrations erupted at the Congress state headquarters Satyamurthi Bhavan, as the party workers embraced the new alliance.
The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, along with the Congress Legislative Party, emphasized their commitment to supporting a secular, progressive, and welfarist government, reflecting the aspirations of Tamil Nadu's electorate. The TVK secured an impressive 108 seats in the election, underscoring a significant shift in the state's political landscape.
