In South Kolkata, political unrest has surfaced post-polls as tensions flared past midnight on Tuesday. A mob assembled outside TMC MLA-elect Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay's residence, dispersing only after police intervention.
The outgoing minister reported that hooligans, unaffiliated with any party, created the disturbance. While no FIR was reported, other incidents followed.
Amid arson and vandalism, one BJP and one TMC worker were killed in violent clashes. Both parties condemned the violence, urging for peace and administrative intervention across the state.
