TVK cadres staged a protest outside Lok Bhavan on Thursday, demanding Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar invite party chief Vijay to form the government.
Despite the party's claim of support from 112 MLAs, including Congress members, the governor has not extended an invitation to Vijay. The protestors referenced the S R Bommai case, insisting the Legislative Assembly is the proper venue for proving a majority.
The protest turned tense as TVK cadres accused the governor of bias towards the BJP. The protestors held placards and voiced their grievances, while police worked to manage the situation.
