In a bid to form a government, TVK leader CTR Nirmal Kumar reached out to CPI and CPI(M) state secretaries on Thursday. Seeking support for a power-sharing arrangement, Kumar highlighted the urgency of coalition governance as Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam falls short of a simple majority.
With TVK clinching 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, the party requires 10 more seats to establish a government. Congress has already pledged its support. However, Kumar clarified that TVK does not intend to approach the NDA, leaving doors open for the Left and other potential allies.
Emphasizing leader Vijay's vision for inclusive governance, Kumar expressed confidence in forming the government and insisted the Governor should invite TVK to lead. "The people's mandate must be honored," said Kumar, reaffirming their claim to governance.
