Kerala's Leadership Choice: V D Satheesan Sparks Support
Supporters of V D Satheesan rallied in Nettoor, advocating for him to be named Kerala's Chief Minister. Amidst discussions by AICC observers with Congress MLAs, reports suggest some support MP K C Venugopal despite his non-participation in the Assembly election. In Nettoor, ardent supporters of V D Satheesan gathered on Thursday, pressing for his appointment as Kerala's next Chief Minister. The demonstration unfolded as AICC observers held crucial talks with 63 Congress MLAs in Thiruvananthapuram, discussing potential candidates for the top state position.
Satheesan, a pivotal figure in the UDF campaign that secured a majority of 102 seats in the Assembly elections, found strong backing in his hometown. Demonstrators rallied with banners proclaiming, 'Whoever led the election battle should rule the state.'
Meanwhile, reports indicate a faction of MLAs is leaning towards MP K C Venugopal for the role, despite his absence from the election contest. Besides Nettoor, similar shows of support are planned across the state, with Satheesan, Venugopal, and senior leader Ramesh Chennithala as key contenders for leadership.
