Sukhbir Singh Badal, leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, declared his party's full preparedness to contest the upcoming Punjab municipal elections. The State Election Commission has scheduled the elections for May 26, covering 105 municipal bodies, including eight municipal corporations.
Badal emphasized his party's intent to contest every seat under its symbol after a core committee meeting. The voting will encompass municipal areas such as Mohali, Bathinda, Abohar, and more.
Concurrently, Badal criticized the Punjab government for not removing Minister Sanjeev Arora following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a GST fraud investigation. He accused the government of shielding Arora despite serious allegations.
