The Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPI(M), has raised concerns over the increasing influence of Hindutva-communal and right-wing forces in the nation's political landscape following the recent assembly elections.
Despite the Left Democratic Front's significant setback in Kerala, where the BJP surprisingly secured three seats, the CPI(M) committed to opposing communal forces. The Political Bureau meeting criticized the BJP for allegedly misusing constitutional institutions and electoral manipulation.
CPI(M) leader M A Baby highlighted the alarming situation of BJP's rise in Kerala, a traditionally secular state, while suspecting electoral roll tampering and certain Indian governmental alliances that undermine democratic rights. Accusations were also thrown at the Congress for enabling BJP's growth due to its 'soft approach'.
