In a politically charged event, Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi has found himself in legal trouble, facing accusations of assault on a public official and inciting caste hatred. His controversial remarks labeling Prime Minister Narendra Modi as 'anti-national' have sparked indignation within the political spectrum.
The incident reportedly unfurled as Lodhi, representing the Hamirpur constituency, led a march to a government office to submit an 11-point memorandum addressing pressing power supply issues. The demonstration, however, led to traffic disruptions and criticism from BJP officials, including a complaint lodged by district media in-charge Satyendra Pratap Gupta.
Gupta claims the MP's remarks, captured in a viral video, are damaging to social harmony and indicative of 'ideological bankruptcy.' Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condemned Lodhi's language as an affront to political decorum, fueling a debate on the boundaries of political discourse in India.
