In a decisive move on Tuesday, AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran announced the removal of the party's sole MLA, S Kamaraj, citing his unauthorized support for the ruling TVK as the reason.
The action, which Dhinakaran described as 'unilateral,' followed immediately after Kamaraj extended backing to the Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's government, a move deemed as a betrayal of AMMK and its allies.
Dhinakaran emphasized that Kamaraj's decision violated party discipline and disappointed voters who had entrusted Kamaraj with their mandate, leading to his removal from all party roles and primary membership.
