C Joseph Vijay, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, is actively consolidating support among political allies ahead of an essential vote of confidence. This week, Vijay engaged in a series of meetings with leaders from IULM, VCK, and Congress, acknowledging their pivotal roles in his government formation.
On Tuesday, Vijay's interactions included discussions with IULM, VCK, and Congress leaders, all of whom had backed his initial bid for the chief ministership. These dialogues mark the second consecutive day of outreach, following Monday's conversations with DMK President MK Stalin and NTK founder Seeman.
Strategically, Vijay also approached the AIADMK faction led by C Ve Shanmugam and S P Velumani, whose MLAs' support proved critical. The AIADMK remains split between chief Edappadi K Palaniswami's camp and these senior leaders. Amidst these activities, Vijay secured IULM's appreciation by closing numerous TASMAC liquor outlets, showcasing a commitment to minority rights protection.
